HEALTHY FUTURES: a conversation about investing in essential healthcare for children in need.
On Tuesday October 24, 2023, we launched our first Gratitude Network Panel on an important topic:
HEALTHY FUTURES: a conversation about investing in essential healthcare for children in need.
“Thank you to everyone who registered for, and attended our special Health Futures panel on delivering better health services to children around the world. John Cape of Global Health Corps did a fantastic job moderating a dynamic panel. And I learned some valuable lessons, including how to use the village ‘gossip channel’ to encourage families to have their children vaccinated. We are proud to support these incredible nonprofit organizations on their journey to help children with better health.” – Steve McCoy-Thompson, Executive Director Gratitude Network
Moderated by JOHN CAPE, Chief Program Officer at GLOBAL HEALTH CORPS, our panel of experts comprised of 3 Gratitude Network Fellows working around the world:
DR. GABRIELLA WOO, Executive Director of AMOS HEALTH & HOPE in Nicaragua (2021 Fellow)
AMOS Health and Hope exists to improve the health of impoverished communities by working alongside them in health, education, and development. They aim to improve health by training primary healthcare service professionals to identify and treat treatable diseases.
VARSHA VENUGOPAL, Co-Founder of SUVITA in India (2022 Fellow)
Suvita is working to provide vaccinations to underserved children and communities throughout India.
RENATA COUTO, Executive Director of DESIDERATA INSTITUTE in Brazil (2023 Fellow)
The Desiderata Institute is a Brazilian non-profit organization conceived to improve public health for children and adolescents. Within the broader agenda of non-communicable diseases and their risk factors, we have focused on the two main causes affecting Brazilian children (aged 0 to 19), namely childhood cancer and childhood obesity.
