Julie-Anne is grateful to have had access to the resources to be able to start AEP and travel to Zambia at such a young age, and for the community leaders and youth in Zambia who trusted her and members of AEP so that together they could create life-changing solutions.
We’re on a mission to make ecosystems of opportunity and of low performing but high potential public school students all over the Philippines!
We have an adage “those who have the least in life deserve the best in education,” so we started working on making the center the best it can be, because we believed our students deserved the very best.
AMOS Health and Hope is a Christian 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that exists to improve the health of impoverished communities by working alongside them in health, education, and development.
I started at AMOS doing my job as a doctor exactly how medical school had trained me to do: to see one patient at a time... But Dr. Laura and Dr. David changed my vision of health and the role of a doctor as only meant to heal in a hospital or clinic. Thanks to them I was able to see how through community-based preventive health programs, you can save more lives.
We envision a world where all girls are protected from exploitation.
I am always passionate about protecting the lives of vulnerable children as I know the misfortune of having a difficult childhood experience, and AusCam seemed to be a really good place for me to live my life purpose as well as to develop professionally.
Our goal is to drive ACEs and toxic stress science forward to support clinical innovation and improve outcomes in pediatric health care.
As our nation faces a national pandemic, racial uprisings and natural disasters, this role feels more critical than ever to help individuals understand how toxic stress affects their health and to support them through these traumatic times.

I believe that in order for our people to heal from generations of poverty, assaults on our culture and traditions, and the long-term impacts of forced assimilation and boarding schools, we must reinvigorate our culture and invest in our youth, which motivates me to continue cultivating the next generation of leaders and culture bearers on Cheyenne River.
We make secondary school a reality for youth from rural communities.
I’m grateful for having a parent who prioritized education and made huge sacrifices to give me the best education because to her it was the key to success in life… I’m grateful that I have been able to dedicate my life to being part of something that is life-changing for many young people.
We are Education for Sharing (E4S), an international non-profit organization that forms better global citizens through educational innovation based on the power of play.

Girls Empowerment Sierra Leone (GESL) is a feminist-based organization in Sierra Leone that nurtures and enhances the leadership skills of young girls to become effective advocates and social change agents in their communities.
I call it my heart work because as someone who has lived in Sierra Leone and experienced a war, I wanted to create a space for girls to feel safe and to support them to become the next generation of leaders who can ensure peace and stability in the country and globally.
Our mission is to empower young women to become problem solvers, leaders and change makers. We do that through investing in their education, providing leadership opportunities, and by catalyzing changes in social attitudes.
Exposure to the leadership center and youth civic engagement at University of Florida played a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of Go Laadli and helping me decide what I wanted our work to be – so we could foster a society where women no longer needed to have to fight for their right to be educated, to be heard, seen and valued.
IGNITE Youth provides a purpose-centered approach to career guidance and coaching so as to help teenagers aged 13-19 years and young adults aged 20-29 years, to create meaningful careers for themselves.
The economic situation in this country and my own personal experiences growing up, motivate me to keep doing this work… The economic situation in Zimbabwe is forcing many parents to concentrate mainly on making sure their children are fed and sheltered. The end result is they overlook other aspects of a child’s life that need attention like psychosocial support and guidance.
Investing in girls from rural Kenyan communities through educational, health, and leadership initiatives to create agents of change.

Kenya Drylands Education Fund strives to improve educational opportunities for the underserved populations in the Drylands of Kenya.

We envision a future where all young people are empowered to be changemakers with the belief that they are never too young to change the world.
I am re-connected to the notion of “meaning” in life, which is my biggest motivation in life. The word means different things to different people, and we will probably find different purposes at different stages in life. Right now in my life, I want to learn to focus on other people, understand their needs and what I can do for them.
“All children will realise their true potential through meaningful, relevant and compassionate education.”
The motivation comes from seeing motivated youth from communities take responsibility to transform quality of learning, enabling well-being and improving governance in the public education system in their area.

We believe that Music aids critical life skills and socio emotional development. We have seen students becoming leaders, improving their grade rates and becoming more sensitized to life skills.
Our agenda is to make music accessible in Delhi first and it is the biggest driving force for me personally and the organization.
Transforming schools from the inside out with innovative Mindfulness programming.
I believe with every fiber of my being that every child deserves to be supported unconditionally in every aspect of their lives. I see mindfulness, compassion, empathy and gratitude being infused into our educational system as a pathway to creating schools where all children and adults feel a deep sense of belonging , connection, unity, and care for each other.
Bridging the Tech Divide. Empowering a New Generation of Innovators.
As we continue to experience a digital divide, I want to ensure youth in my community have the skills they need to thrive in today’s global economy. I want youth to have the opportunity to gain the skills needed to compete in the tech workforce in their hometown.
No human life is too big to be saved and none too small to be lost. All human lives are equally valuable. Natal Cares says NO to maternal and infant mortality in Nigeria
When i wake up in the morning and i remember how i felt when i lost my sister in-law and her unborn baby to a very preventable cause, and i also remember that their are thousands of pregnant women and nursing mothers in vulnerable communities in Nigeria who face these same conditions; there is no greater motivation than this.

When I was in graduate school, I submitted my idea for a Novelly app that does exactly this – use the power of story to start courageous conversations – and I was surprised to receive seed funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to turn the app into a reality.
We support Oakland Public School Students in becoming healthy, confident, and empowered to reach their education and life goals.

The mission of Project Hawai’i Inc. is to help our islands keiki (children in Hawaiian) break the cycle of poverty.
I was born to help homeless children. What they looks like, or how that is done is a learning process. I have learned to find the holes in other programs, to look for what is lacking, and to see what is going to work.

Read to Lead helps students develop literacy, life, and career skills
In our first 25 years, we impacted 1 million youth and with the launch of Read to Lead in 2017 with continued investment, strategic partners, innovation, and improved tools, I know we can scale our unique learning model to the next million students across the US, in much less time.

Since 2008, The Book Bus has worked to improve literacy in Zambia, Malawi and Ecuador, providing books, storytelling materials and libraries for children and teachers.
My greatest inspiration to join the project came from the children who I first encountered in the refugee camp, the teachers in various schools who spoke to me in local language letting me know how they really felt about having a project that was great but did not have sustainable impact. I then knew we had to adopt this project and turn it local!
United Roots houses many programs and community projects creating an ecosystem of opportunities for our young people.
I am committed to ensuring that transformational healing programs and initiatives continue at United Roots, which will provide Oakland’s youth who have had peers fall victim to violence in their neighborhoods, are healed.
Our vision is for every student in San Francisco to have one male teacher of color before middle school.
I remain motivated to do this work because the win for Black and Brown families in California is coming soon. I can almost taste it. We know our children have better educational experiences when they see themselves at the front of the classroom and we have a great shot at influencing more groups to join our mission.
At Val-Ed Initiatives, we build stronger & healthier characters in children, parents, educators & adults through 21st Century Human Values & Life Skills Education programs & products designed & delivered by Role Models.
Val-Ed came into being because it was natural extension of my effort to live my purpose and achieving what I dreamt of as a youngster. It gave me an avenue to invite like minded people to join hands and achieve what we commonly desired an equitable society built on the foundation of positive human values.
Empowering teenagers with essential life skills to help them live a balanced and meaningful life through a process of self discovery and introspection.
