Leadership Summit 2019

The Gratitude Team looks forward to the Leadership Summit – those three days are truly our favorite of the year.  The in-person gathering of our fellows annually is an important part of the Fellowship year for the Fellows, the Coaches AND the Expert Advisors, as well as the Team and our Ambassadors.  For three days we soak in the powerful energy of learning together and expanding possibilities. It is truly hard to describe how invigorating, cathartic, stimulating, skill-building, perspective changing the time together is.   A key Summit highlight for all our Fellows ia meeting their coaches and cohort members in person—experiencing the shared journey is transformational.

The time together is spent in a mix of activities:  getting to know one another, deep dives into common issues our leaders all face, talking about important stumbling blocks, sharing tools, suggestions and successes AND of course some time for just conversation and fun!   There were interactive exercises, workshops, one on one discussions, small group conversations – both informal and formal.

It was a pleasure for the Team, Coaches and Expert Advisors to meet with all of our Fellows and Alumni and we thank all our fellows for flying in from all over the world to participate.  The coming together from Europe, Asia, South America, Africa, and Australia was a metaphor for us all of how far (literally) commitment can take you. We look forward to how these nascent relationships develop during the rest of the Fellows year with us, and as they transition to Alumni.

Keeping an ongoing relationship with gratitude network, 8 of our alumni were present proving that they want to amplify their impact by staying involved.  Alumni present were Step Ahead, Asante Africa, Dost, Meds & Food for Kids, Elevate USA, Ubongo, and Edovo.

The takeaways from the Leadership Summit:

  1. Accountability is key
  2. Best practices in hiring
  3. Fundraising
  4. Connecting with other social entrepreneurs is important
  5. Virtual relationships work!  But, it is so nice to be in the same room together, working and breaking break together.

We hope to see a global impact from all our Gratitude Fellows in the future and the entire Network is happy to be a part of your journey and support the Fellows’ growth as leaders and their organizations as they scale!
